Uno® Selects ArrowStream Logistics Solution to Gain Supply Chain Efficiencies, Rapid Realization of Savings
Quick casual leader expects to improve visibility of product movement, reduce category spend
CHICAGO, September 1, 2009 -- ArrowStream, a leading provider of supply chain solutions for the food industry, announced today a partnership to improve Uno Restaurant Group’s supply chain management process throughout its system of 200 company-owned and franchised locations and its Uno Foods division, which supplies airlines, movie theaters, hotel restaurants and supermarkets with frozen and refrigerated private label foods and branded Uno products.
Eager to cut supply chain costs in a weakened economy and a competitive market and armed only with standard supply chain approaches that offer incremental savings, Uno selected a solution that will create substantial efficiencies for its manufacturing operations as well as its restaurant chain.
To achieve its efficiency goals, Uno’s will leverage the ArrowStream Network to reduce costs by optimizing inbound and outbound freight, creating more full trucks and reducing the number of empty miles traveled. Because The Network includes a large percentage of Uno’s trading partners, Uno will be able to quickly implement a more efficient freight strategy and realize the savings that come from this solution.
