ArrowStream Names John Christner Trucking “Carrier of the Year”
CHICAGO, August 31, 2010 – ArrowStream, a leading provider of logistics services and supply chain management technology for the foodservice industry, with a powerful $20 billion logistics network, has honored John Christner Trucking with its 2010 Carrier of the Year award.
Ed Medlock, SVP of Distribution, Logistics and Program Management for Quality Supply Chain Co-op, Inc. (Wendy’s Purchasing Co-op) said, “We fully support ArrowStream presenting the award for ‘Carrier of the Year’ to John Christner Trucking (JCT). JCT meets our demanding standards for accurate and on-time deliveries to ensure optimal product quality and sufficient stock to meet the needs of Wendy’s restaurants, which are critical elements for a successful distribution relationship. Recently, JCT handled distribution for our nationwide launch of a new produce-based product line, and we’re pleased to report that they exceeded our expectations.”
“We thank ArrowStream and the John Christner team for providing us with great customer service and exceeding our expectations. They have gone above and beyond to make sure our loads arrive on time. We congratulate them on becoming ArrowStream’s Carrier of the Year and look forward to continuing this journey with their team,” said Gary Rancatore, President of Quality Distributing.
ArrowStream reviewed key performance criteria to select the winning carrier:
- on-time pick-up and delivery percentages,
- ability to meet capacity commitments,
- total number of loads handled, and
- claims ratio.
In addition, ArrowStream staff and customers rated carriers on qualitative criteria for performance including:
- level of responsiveness,
- commitment to address service issues, and
- commitment to maintaining rates in a freight market that has endured major fluctuations over the past 12 months.
Rodger Mullen, ArrowStream President said, “John Christner Trucking is a tremendous partner for ArrowStream. The company’s hands-on approach to getting it right on every single load has helped us excel in meeting our customers’ needs.”
In addition to their proven commitment and well-trained drivers, John Christner Trucking has also exceeded the technology capabilities of many trucking companies in the industry today.
“John Christner Trucking’s complete visibility into load tracking, their advanced cold chain management – and their electronic data exchange capability – make them a great trucking choice for our customers’ needs in this time of heightened concern for both inventory optimization, and food safety and traceability,” said Walt Kopp, VP of Operations for ArrowStream.
The management team of John Christner came to Chicago for the ArrowStream awards presentation yesterday, with ArrowStream staff and customers in attendance, followed by a Chicago Cubs baseball game outing.
In accepting the award, John Christner, Founder of John Christner Trucking, said “We thank ArrowStream for this honor. Like ArrowStream and its customers, we pride ourselves on building partnerships with our customers and striving for excellence every single day. On behalf of our drivers and the entire John Christner family, we’re proud to accept this award, and we look forward to continuing our work together.”
